Oceanside Hospice has over 60 volunteers who are the heart and soul of our organization. There are many different areas within our organization that you can help support, and new volunteers are always welcome. Assignment of volunteers is based on community needs.
It is mandatory that every volunteer must complete a 30 hour hospice volunteer training program which runs over seven weeks. The cost is $75 and includes the annual membership fee. Volunteer training is offered two times per year.

Client support volunteers work directly with our clients in their homes, The Hospice unit at Trillium and with our bereavement support programs including the Friday Self-Care Clinic.
Equipment delivery volunteers are ready and willing volunteers who deliver equipment as required to clients in their homes via our Hospice Van. It is not necessary that drivers take the volunteer training; however, volunteers will need to attend an information and equipment orientation session.
We are always in search of drivers, even a few hours a month would be much appreciated.
Festive Season Volunteers to organize and help deliver the Christmas House Tour at Valhalla, duties would include decorating the house, baking, serving tea/coffee and baked goods, and providing musical entertainment.
Golf Tournament Volunteers to fund-raise, organize and help with our annual Golf Tournament.
Speakers Bureau Volunteers to speak to groups and businesses in the community about Hospice, Advance Care Planning, Planned Giving and other topics. Training and printed materials will be provided.
